When is there an Android client?
j
we do not have any immediate plans for an android or iphone client
h
My use cases and requirements require the participation of many Android phones and apple phones. Unfortunately, there is no such client software
j
Do you know how the ext clients work? this is meant for phones to hook into networks
h
The external client is not a mesh. It needs to occupy the resources of the entry gateway. It has strict requirements for the entry gateway. It needs a public IP. If there is a public IP, it may not need netmaker
I want hundreds of parents in the kindergarten to use mobile phones to see their children's situation anytime, anywhere
The data flow of video stream takes up a lot of network overhead, and external clients are not the best solution
r
Try running head node where the video stream originates. Use external clients function to create profiles for parents. If they want to use the connection, they will need to open a Wireguard App and scan a qr code. They can disconnect after they are done

The kindergarten does not have a public network IP, it is a home network. If you use an ingress gateway, you need to use my server for transfer, and my server bandwidth is limited. Peer-to-peer communication is very important. Please develop Android and Apple mobile phone clients as soon as possible.
It took me half a year to learn how to use netmaker. When I really wanted to devote myself to specific work, it was a great misfortune to find that there was no Android client.
I will try to compile the apk myself, but I have never done it, not sure if it will work
I am not a programmer, the compilation failed😓
I hope someone can do it, the ingress gateway has high requirements on the network environment, not a mesh network.
Currently tested win11, ubuntu 22.04, openwrt (site to site ), mobile phone external client, relay, etc. are all normal, this is a great software, thanks to the hard work and selfless dedication of the netmaker development team! When the home network builds nas, im (xmpp), and video surveillance, it will be better if there is a mobile client. Because external clients need access gateways, public IPs, and dynamic domain names, these requirements are too difficult for home networks.
