v0.14.0 - Noticed on macs (monterey and big sur) that I cant find the netclient process anymore, and /etc/hosts isnt updated.
@broad-elephant-83981 were you using the brew installer or the package?

you can still use the binary

package should work...I believe @future-ram-24559 tried it as well and it was functional, but I will have another look. In meantime may want to use Brew instead

to have the daemon installed you have to add the --daemon=install on first join

Interestingly the client can ping the netmaker server though, but I see errors in the dashboard for the client
But I'll try brew instead

when you say you downloaded the package, do you mean the binary from releases or the actual package installer?

likely because daemon isn't installed and thus no comms with server via mqtt

I didnt see the package installer in the releases

we do not install the daemon as a part of the binary running by default
check out the macos section
I'll add the package to the releases page as well

Which do you really recommend tho ... brew or the installer?

they should both be the same --- alex did the installer, I did the cask

yeah they're pretty similar, i'd say brew if you like CLI better, installer if you're more of a GUI person
