okay, so I re-rolled my netmaker server. The manual macos setup on Big Sur worked no issue. (note the new netclient for macos is called netclient-darwmin 😛 ) I added a debian VM on the macos machine, VMWare with bridged networking so that the VM is supposed to appear as another IP on the local LAN. both machines have access to each other effing winning
